On the 15th March the school celebrated Proclamation Day. I’m sure you have heard by now that this year is the 100 year anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising when Ireland fought for their independence. Earlier this year the army presented every school in Ireland with an Irish flag and a copy of the Proclamation.

On the last day of school before the Easter holidays we had our annual Easter Egg raffle. We had 96 eggs altogether. At 11:00 we all went to Ms. Treacys' classroom where the raffle was held. At the start we had a box with everyones' names in it so every one would get an egg. After that it got serious.

The current title holders are Ballyboden St.Endas (Dublin). Blackrock in Cork won 1st place. The competition hosts about 25,000 boys and girls each year with all counties involved. Sold in any newsagent around Galway! April fools! The article at the top is real, though ;) -Lorna On Saturday the 16th of April, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ concert took place in the 3 Arena, Dublin. The concert was on for 3 days in a row, from the 16th to the 18th of April. We got the concert bus up to Dublin. People from Ballinasloe and Athlone went on the bus as well. We got to Dublin at around 4:30pm.
